CAS – Learn cooking

I learned to cook a dish which can be made easily, anywhere and whenever we want. It is important for us to know cooking in case of any emergency. This dish will serve the purpose in any emergency

Learning outcomes –

L1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I learned to make that dish and as I was new to cooking I had to learn the basic skills and on which I had to improve. My mother taught me to make potato mash. For the first time I took help from her and cooked it. I was struggling in put the spices as per the tastes sometimes I put more and sometimes less and the taste does not balance. I will cook it once in a week so that I can improve and can make it independently.

L2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
in the process
There were many challenges I faced in this experience as this was a completely new skill for me to perform. I had difficulties in measuring and putting the amount of spices for perfect taste. Also in boiling the potato, I was not able to identify that the potato is boiled or not. So I observed the time for which we have to boil the potato which helped me in identifying.

L4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
I showed proper commitment towards cooking which was important as I failed sometimes but didn’t quit doing it. I knew there would be some difficulties that I may face so I was prepared for it. If i didn’t showed commitment then it would not be possible to succeed as would have already quitted.
