Cooking teaches us the more general life skills that we need to have. While thinking about the further studies that I will pursue abroad, it made me realize I don’t know how to cook except for the basics like chopping and boiling. So I decided to learn new recipes as a part of my creativity experience under CAS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While learning, I realized that my strength is cutting, baking, and chopping in different styles. But when it comes to making round rotis, frying, and flipping, I lacked these skills. Through time I tried to work on the skills that I lacked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenges that I faced were frying, flipping, and making round rotis. Since I had not done anything similar to this, I found it very challenging for me. I still haven’t overcome the challenge of frying and making round rotis, but I can flip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience & L4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While cooking, there are steps and procedures to be followed. Before making anything, I used to ensure if I have all the ingredients and utensils with me. Since I had online school and assignments, it became hard sometimes to take out time to learn as cooking takes time. But I made a point every day to cook at least one thing or learn a new style. At least taking out 30-45 mins daily to cook. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience made me understand how much patience is required while cooking as it takes a very long time to make some recipes. I felt a sense of accomplishment when I finished this experience. Throughout this experience, not only did I learn new recipes but, I also developed the characteristic of being balanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
