L1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:
I choose cycling because it is something I love doing and am good at. To improve my cycling speed and stamina I used to cycle regularly with sports tracker on so that I can graph my results. My target was to cycle 50 kilometers but I couldn’t achieve that because after 20-22 kms I used to get very tired. To achieve my goal I will have to do some extra physical training at the gym to make my legs stronger and capable of achieving my goal.
L2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken in developing new skills:
Challenges were taken in this CAS experience because initially I started by doing 2-3 kilometers cycling and reached upto 22 kilometers of cycling on road towards the end of my experience. When I was a beginner I wasn’t so much exposed to cycling on road but I challenged myself and then after some time I became completely confident on road and did 22 kilometers of cycling.
L3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience:
To do 22 kilometers of cycling, I didn’t do it at once, I planned out my schedule and then tried following it to my best. If I didn’t have any schedule I would have ended up hurting my body by doing more than I am capable of.
L4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:
Perseverance and commitment was needed to do cycling regularly for over 7 months. While doing any long-term task, one will always need commitment, without it, it is almost impossible to complete that task.
