CAS 1 (Working out and exercising)

During the lockdown, all I did daily was wake up, attend online school, watch shows and sleep. Due to this unhealthy routine, I decided I needed change in my life, I was gaining some weight because of my unhealthy diet. I decided to research about working out and exercising, I came up with a good plan with a mix of weight lifting and cardio. I continued for multiple months at my home, but I realized it wasn’t really good enough as I only had 20 kilos dumbbells, and due to the lack of equipment. When the lockdown was lifted and the gyms had reopened I started going there daily and I talked with the trainers there to help me with my routine and learn new equipment.

LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Through this activity I was easily able to physically identify my strengths and weaknesses, by constantly working out daily I slowly observed the areas in which I lacked and in which excelled. I was really good at lifting weights and strength-based exercises but I lacked in cardio, and by learning my strength and weakness I was able to modify my workout to help me train my weakness. I slowed down the intensity of my cardio session but increased the time spent on cardio therefore gradually I got better at it.

LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

The most important part of the cas activity was planning a solid workout plan that I  could follow every single week, not only this but I had to set a time at which I could workout daily. I started researching workout plans and came up with a 5 day plan with 2 days of rest. Executing the plan was a bit hard as I’m not really an organized person, I do things randomly at any time, therefore following a fixed schedule turned out to be a bit harder than I expected. But I believe this planning was quite important as it helped me

LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

After setting all these things up and planning out I had to actually work out daily, I had to get the motivation to get up and exercise. Getting this motivation was really hard and committing to my routine and being persistent. But if I wanted to achieve my goal I had to continue this routine for at least multiple months.
