CAS: Donation (service)

We, as privileged people, have many clothes in our closets that some of them we don’t wear and are just lying around in our closets. While I was rearranging my closet, there were many clothes that I didn’t wish to wear or didn’t fit me and, that is when it clicked me to donate them. I and my friends asked our family members to find if they have any unwanted clothes. Also asked around in our neighborhood. After which we collected them, sorted them out and, donated the clothes to underprivileged people.

LO3:Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

After discovering the unwanted clothes that our family had, my friends and I decided to spread the word in my neighborhood and gathered unwanted clothes. Later from which we all sorted out in different categories like blankets, sweaters, and clothes. All of which were sanitized before and after sorting.

Knowing how to plan and initiate it is a must as it makes it easy for us and saves us a lot of time.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Working together was not really of an issue. If I had to do it alone, I might not have been able to manage. We divided our tasks and were able to manage well.

LO6:Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

Donating clothes helps the environment as a clothing landfill releases toxic greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere when they break down. And mainly it helps the people in need.

LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Donating clothes to the people in need in times of this global pandemic.
