During the summer vacation, I was on bed rest due to slipped disc for almost three months. During these three months, I was not physically active, lost my stamina and strength. During visits to the doctor, he allowed me to do gyming, but only treadmill and gym bike as regressive gymming was not safe during that time.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The most challenging thing during this process was to manage my schedule. During the bed-rest, I was not able to study or complete any assignments and, once I was allowed to sit for 45 mins at one go, I had to complete the pending assignments along with other things. Coping up with the studies and gyming was a challenge.
To overcome this challenge, I made a timetable considering the amount of time that I’m allowed to sit, allowed to do gyming and etc. Following this timetable made it easy to balance all things.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
As mentioned above, I made a timetable to balance out the things I’m supposed to do, that is how I organized myself. It was not difficult to plan but executing the timetable was sometimes a bit hard.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
There was commitment required in this activity since it was hard to manage all things together. Commitment is important to achieve a goal. I was determined that I wanted to be fit again, and thinking about the future consequences of not being fit is what actually motivated me.
