Caster board is a 2 wheeled vehicle that is very similar to a skateboard, but it is propelled using the rider’s waster and lower body by making a twisting action, its a really fun way to get more athletic and improve your body balance. I’ve always wanted to learn skateboard or caster board, but skateboards require a skate park and I don’t really have anywhere I live therefore I choose to learn caster board as they are a fun activity as well.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
This form of vehicle is really hard to master as it requires the use of body muscles that you don’t really use in general daily life, and it forced me to improve my physical body balancing skills in order to steer and ride the caster board, due to this I learned many new physical skills.
LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
In order to start this CAS experience, I created a small plan and divided my learning process into 3 parts which were “riding”, “steering” and “tricks”. This made it easy for me to learn caster boarding as a whole and proves that how initiated and planned my CAS experience.
LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
This activity tested my commitment, I would describe myself as a lazy person when it comes to intense physical activities so I had to go out of my way and force myself to learn caster board as it was a tiring sport which showed my commitment to the activity.
In summary, this activity was super fun and now I can proudly say that I know how to use caster board and I even managed to learn rudimentary tricks. This CAS activity gave me a new hobby and I would consider it a major success.
