Hi! I’m Saumya Shah, a 17-year-old student from Fountainhead School, Surat. I am a voracious reader and a coding enthusiast. Being the co-leader of the Debate & Current Affairs Club and an avid MUN delegate, I also enjoy orating and engaging with different perspectives.

I would like to improve my communication and self-management skills. In the future, I hope to use computer science as well as physics to pioneer research into sustainable energy solutions due to my passion for environmental causes. One area I’d like to learn more of is psychology – I find it fascinating how people behave in different circumstances.

One skill I wish to develop is music. I listen to music pretty much all the time, and so it helps shape my thoughts and emotions. Learning to play music could give me a much deeper appreciation of its impacts.

The pandemic has transformed my outlook on life; seeing the extreme problems people face has made me identify, value, and cherish the privileges I do have.

Being a computer science student, I also aim to learn more about using machine learning and artificial intelligence for research purposes, such as to analyse large amounts of data.

My dream is to become the best version of myself through my education, and thus, use my abilities to help the environment and society.
