Football !!! This sport has driven me crazy and has made me fall in love with it. I started football classes with the mindset of improving physically and mentally in football. My goal was to give in full efforts and commit to the process, to develop and become better as a football player, physically and mentally.
LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Already knowing a few of my strengths and weaknesses. My coach helped me focus more on my weaknesses so that I could improve and become more efficient. Being aware of our strengths and weaknesses helps out in targeting and focusing more on our weaknesses. This helps our weaknesses to become our strengths. One of my weaknesses was control, you still can call it a weakness compared to the other depths, but you can say that this experience helped me improve a lot.
LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Knowing we have to work on our weaknesses is a challenge itself. To improve as a player, I had to focus more on my weaknesses. This made the process quite demanding, as working on your weaknesses is not something everyone would prefer over working on their strengths. In the end, I knew focusing on my weaknesses is helping me improve as a player, which made me not think of it as a challenge but something as a source of motivation and guide towards improving as a player.
LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
I had to organize my schedule, fix timings and go according to plan and commit to the process. Both the planning and initiation were demanding, as I had to find my weaknesses and work accordingly. Multiple skills developed throughout the experience. Planning and initiating this activity gave me exposure, and this is going to help me in the future to plan and begin activities.
LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
This process had me give in a complete effort and commitment to work on reaching my goal. I planned things properly and scheduled myself according to my schedule, so I could focus on working on my weaknesses and improve mentally and physically. Being able to fully commit to this process made this experience more manageable, as football is something that I love. It was not hard for me to consign and give in efforts in this experience.
LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Football being a team sport requires cooperation and working together. It was easier for me to work with unknown and known people because of football. It was significant for us to collaborate so that teamwork leads us through matches. This activity did not just require cooperation among team members, but it required mental and physical collaboration as well.
The learner profile characteristics developed in this process were communicator and well-balanced. This process has helped me strengthen and gain confidence in myself. Knowing this experience has been an extraordinary journey, I would say this experience has been successful. Reflecting on the past and the present makes me feel proud of myself.
