CAS Experience: Participating in a Surat Open Table tennis tournament

In this CAS experience, I participated in a Table tennis surat open tournament for under 18. Table Tennis is something I was always passionate about but because of Covid 19 pandemic I lost a lot of practice. So once I got to know about this tournament being held, I immediately applied for it and participated in it. I did not win or anything but this was a really good experience

Action

Strands Covered: LO1, LO5

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

In this CAS experience, I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses during my match. One notable thing I found is that playing a normal match and playing a match during a tournament is completely different. The pressure is insane during a tournament and this was also a knockout matches. I feel like I could have beaten the opponent if it was a normal match but because of the pressure I was not able to. This is a major weakness I found in myself and aim to participate in more tournaments to overcome this.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

I did not have much time to practice before the tournament because it was near the exam however I was able to squeeze in some practice with my friends who were really supportive and helped me brush back my old skills

This CAS experience was a really great experience for me. I was able to brush up my TT skills and understand that tournament matches are way different. I understood that I need to work on my pressure handling and participate in more matches.
