Leukemia: Acute or chronic

Leukemia is a kind of cancer of which the body’s blood-forming tissues and also including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. Many types of leukemia exist but leukemia is more common in children and the ther forms of leukemia occur mostly in adults. Leukemia usually involves white blood cells and when white blood cells are potent infection fighters they normally grow and divide in an orderly way, as your body needs them. But in people with leukemia, the bone marrow produces abnormal white blood cells, which don’t function properly. Treatment for leukemia can be different and difficult as depending on the type of leukemia but there are strategies and resources that can help to make your treatment successful also there are many types of leukemia such as Acute lymphocytic leukemia which is the most common type of leukemia in young children and also may occur in adults acute myelogenous leukemia is a common type of leukemia which occurs in children and adults and its most common in adults chronic lymphocytic leukemia which the most common chronic adult leukemia and also may feel well for years without needing treatment Chronic myelogenous leukemia occurs and mainly affects adult and maybe few or no symptoms for months or years before entering a phase in which the leukemia cells grow more quickly.

There are different techniques for the symptoms as the doctors may find chronic leukemia in a routine blood test before symptoms begin. If this happens if you have signs or symptoms that suggest leukemia, and then you have to have to for a Physical exam and then it’s possible that the doctor will look for physical signs of leukemia, such as pale skin from anemia, swelling of your lymph nodes, and also check that whether there are frequent infections or not blood tests are the one to diagnose that where there is any leukemia present or not by looking at a sample of blood the doctor can also determine whether there are any abnormal levels of red or white blood cells or platelets which you can determine that are there any symptoms of  leukemia also there is one more test bone marrow test the doctor may recommend a procedure to remove a sample of bone marrow from your hipbone and the bone marrow is removed using a long, thin needle then the sample is sent to a laboratory to look for leukemia cells and then after a specialised tests of your leukemia cells may reveal certain characteristics that are used to determine your treatment.A needle suctioning out liquid bone marrow from hipbone BONE MARROW TEST.

The causes and the systems that get affected by leukemia as leukemia is thought to occur when some blood cells acquire mutations in the DNA and the instructions inside each cell that guide is its action and there may be other changes in the cells that have to understood that could contribute to leukemia there are certain abnormalities which cause the cell to grow and divide more rapidly and to continue living when normal cells would die and over the time the abnormal cells can crowd out healthy blood cells in the bone marrow which leads to fewer healthy white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets which are causing the signs and the symptoms of leukemia.

The scientific advances play an important role in the treatment of the Leukemia such as Chemotherapy which is the major form of treatment for leukemia some chemicals are released to kill the leukemia cells in the blood and also it depends on the type of leukemia that the person is suffering through as the person may receive a single drug or a combination of drugs and they can be in the form of a pill or an injection the other treatment for leukemia is biological therapy works by using treatments that help your immune system to attack to the leukemia cells in the blood again one of the major treatment for leukemia is radiation therapy which uses X-rays and high-energy beams to damage leukemia cells and stop their growth and during radiation therapy, the person lies on a table while a large machine moves around that person directing the radiation to precise points of the body. the stem cell transplant is a procedure to replace the diseased bone marrow with healthy bone marrow before transplanting stem cells high dosage chemotherapy and radiation therapy is given to the person to destroy all the leukemia cells in the blood and then the bone marrow transplants to the person to make new blood cells in the body.

People who’ve had certain types of chemotherapy and radiation therapy for other cancers have an increased risk of developing certain types of leukemia. Genetic abnormalities seem to play a role in the development of leukemia. Certain genetic disorders, such as Down syndrome, are associated with an increased risk of leukemia. Exposure to certain chemicals, such as benzene which is found in gasoline and is used by the chemical industry is linked to an increased risk of some kinds of leukemia. Smoking cigarettes increase the risk of acute myelogenous leukemia. If members of your family have been diagnosed with leukemia, your risk of the disease may be increased and also the costs for the therapies for killing the leukemia cells in blood are really high
