Hello everyone,

For my CAS project, me and a few of my friends took up MATP. What is MATP? Missing girl and trafficking awareness program. This project was 6 to 8 months long. Where there were 5 modules in total. Each module was different and each of them was very insightful as it taught us a lot about trafficking issues in our society. During this project I was able to cover all of the learning outcomes of CAS as:

1.Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:

In this CAS project, we were required to plan a session with many people such as friends and family members to educate them on missing girls and trafficking issues in our society and to tell them what we can do as a responsible citizen to solve this issue. I can say that I am good at managing things but as we had to attend to so many people, I was not confident enough to handle them all, I needed to improve my communication skills. This acted as an opportunity for me to improve myself. 

2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

This CAS project was a challenge for me. As it was very long and has a lot of requirements to fulfill. For example,we had to conduct sessions, paint a missing girl awareness poster in public spaces. This required a lot of time and hard work. During this program I was able to develop my communication skills and thinking skills. 

3. Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

This CAS project required a lot of meetings with my co-members, for which I had to set meetings, take updates and report it to my supervisor. This helped me improve my management skills

4. Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.

Attending more than an hour long learning sessions with missing girl foundation organisation, time to time conduction of all events of the project shows a lot of commitment has been required and reached.

5. Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively.

Working with other people helps me improve my collaboration skills and also helps in easy communication with other members of the group. Working together also helps make tasks easier as a lot of people work together on the same things. 

6. Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

More than 10000 children are trafficked each year where they are subjected to sexual exploitation. Missing girl and trafficking program is all about spreading awareness of this cause. Working with MATp foundation enables us to contribute to resolving this global cause.

7.Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Everyone, children, every woman, every single human being or an individual deserves the right to freedom and so many of us have what it takes to help each other. Completing this project , I understand that we should try to do as much as we can to fight these problems for a better future.
