Beach cleaning!!!

Having visited Dumas many times, I was well aware that plastic pollution was a serious problem in the region. When the lockdown opened during the pandemic, our friends and I wanted to go to the beach and eat bhajya and have a good time, but as soon as we arrived, we discovered that the beach was polluted with huge quantities of plastic. Among the items were packs, wrappers, bottles, and slippers. We had to leave the beach due to the fact that it was no longer suitable for the game. We then approached Nature Club Surat, which graciously invited us to accompany them on a nature drive.

LO3– Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

I had to speak to Saniya, who arranged the case, while also dealing with my parents, providing them with updates on where to go and when to go, as well as persuade some of my friends and their families to join us. I even persuaded my other friends to bring their cousins or other friends  and volunteer to help clean up the beach. This greatly aided in the development of my speaking abilities.

LO5:- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

Cleaning a beach is difficult, particularly if you’re alone, but that wasn’t the case here. We were divided into 4-5 teams and assigned to different areas of the beach. Every team was responsible for filling a big trash bag with trash. Nobody wished to bring the garbage can, which was a source of contention (due to its filthy nature). Nonetheless, bypassing the bag around after a few time periods, we were able to solve the problems. This strategy made the whole process much easier and more effective, allowing us to cover more ground in less time.

L06 :- Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

The beach was littered with a variety of garbage, most of which was plastic. Since plastic is non-degradable and harmful to the atmosphere, it must be recycled. However, people on the beach dump all kinds of garbage around instead of in the trash can, making it impossible for people to recycle. As a result, we made the decision to focus on this issue and clean the Dumas beach. By recycling garbage, we made it easier for people who recycle to do their job.

LO7:- Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

After all of the hard work, I understood that this was just a first step in addressing extreme global water contamination. Millions of people around the world die as a result of a lack of access to safe drinking water. Furthermore, our actions have a major impact on the flora and fauna of the oceans. Many animals have been forced to extinction as a result of our actions. Participating in those drives helped me aware that someone’s life might be lost because of a few irresponsible people. We placed a few don’t litter signs on the beach during the drive to raise awareness and encourage people to rethink their behavior.
