CAS – Cooking

L1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I learned to make that dish and as I was new to cooking I had to learn the basic skills and on which I had to improve. My mother taught me to make potato mash. For the first time, I took help from her and cooked it. I was struggling in putting the spices as per the tastes sometimes I put more and sometimes less and the taste does not balance. I will cook it once a week so that I can improve and can make it independently.

L2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
in the process
There were many challenges I faced in this experience as this was a completely new skill for me to perform. I had difficulties in measuring and putting the number of spices for a perfect taste. Also in boiling the potato, I was not able to identify that the potato is boiled or not. So I observed the time for which we have to boil the potato which helped me in identifying.

L4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
I showed proper commitment towards cooking which was important as I failed sometimes but didn’t quit doing it. I knew there would be some difficulties that I may face so I was prepared for it. If I didn’t show commitment then it would not be possible to succeed as would have already quit.
