CAS Strand : Creativity

LO 2: Demonstrate that they have undertaken challenges, developing new skills in the process.

Focused Learning outcomes :

Hindi is my mother tongue and the most commonly used language I know. One day, I was offered an opportunity by my Hindi teacher to do something on the upcoming Hindi divas day, and instantly I agreed, I really wanted to do something for my mother tongue. As we know, nowadays everyone is trying to adapt to English Culture, and unfortunately, people are forgetting Hindi. So to retain its presence and aware people of it, we had to organize an event filled with joyful activities and games.

The greatest challenge we faced while organizing this event was COVID-19, which means, we had to do everything online. We faced a lot of issues in conversing with each other and also understanding others, I and my friend, Vatsal Agarwal, were the Organisers of the entire event. So we had to plan a lot of online meetings in order to update our teachers with the progress of the event. But sometimes our volunteers used to create a lot of Chaos in the meet and disturb others, So at that moment our Leadership skills came into action and we Managed them.

LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

Being the organizer of the event, a lot of responsibility was on our heads. To make the event Smooth and Successful we had to be planned. That is what we did, We first gathered everyone and discussed the Flow of the Event, and gave them their roles accordingly, Which made everything crystal clear. We also kept meeting online, to discuss any doubts or etc.

LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in their CAS experience.

As mentioned earlier, It was my responsibility as an organizer of the event to keep a record of everyone’s task, So I and Vatsal often planned meetings to record everyone’s updates. It was mandatory for us to be committed to our agenda in order for our event to be successful.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

Our Event was successful, only because of our volunteers, without them it wouldn’t have been possible. Working with others helped me in enhancing my communication and leadership skills. Working together also made each and every activity a lot more fun and interesting.

To conclude, after the completion of the event, I really felt proud that I was able to manage everyone and the flow of the event went smoothly( This showcases my leadership skills ). During the event, I believe that I was able to develop my communication skills as I interacted a lot with my peers and audience.
