CAS Strand catered: Activity
As soon as the lockdown began, I joined yoga classes at my house. Yoga was regularly performed at my house before, but because of my School and tuitions, I didn’t have the time to do it. Lockdown came as an opportunity to me. One day I was surfing to the internet and I saw a video explaining the benefits of doing Yoga, and I was amazed to see its wonderful healthy side effects. This inspired me even more that I started doing it.
Focused learning outcomes :
LO 1: Identify their own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
Before Joining yoga, I used to feel tired very often and was very unfit for my age. So in the starting sessions, When I tried to stretch my body to do different Asanas, My body wouldn’t stretch, it was stiff as a rock . Watching this made me feel terrible. But my Yoga sir told me, it will take time, it will slowly adapt. This kept me motivated and I gradually became more flexible.
LO 2: Demonstrate that they have undertaken challenges, developing new skills in the process.
Biggest challenge for me during this experience was to wake up early in the morning, It was lockdown and all of my friends slept late and woke late in the morning, which was the ideal thing I was planning to do as well, but Yoga classes took places in the morning, because of which I had to sleep early and wake up early. But somehow this was good for me. This changed my daily routine, I started feeling more fresh and happy. This helped me become more balanced in my life, as I was focusing on my entire body physically, as well as mentally.
LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in their CAS experience.
I showed tremendous commitment towards yoga, I woke up at 7 am in the morning 6 days a week for 6 months. This helped me become a very consistent learner. Doing yoga for such a long time helped me become very positive. My body is now very flexible that I can do hard yoga asanas with less effort. This change made me feel proud of my achievements.
LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.
Obesity is one of the global issues as millions of people suffer with obesity, which makes them very unfit and also usually deteriorates their health. Doing Yoga can help and individual to become physically, mentally and emotionally fit and focused.
