Donate 4 Needy was a initiative by me to help the needy people.I thought that there are many people who want to donate but could not due to covid conditions and busy schedule.So through Donate 4 Needy I conducted a donation drive on 26th January.I used social media to spread awareness about my donation drive.Then I collected things like raw food material,clothes and stationary, and then I segregated all the donation stuff and made kits to donate.On 26th January I went to the needy people like people on streets.Construction Sites, etc and donated everything.
LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
During working for Donate for the needy I had received many things to donate, I learned management skills while managing all the stuff and data.It was challenging because all the things had to be classified correctly and be given to needy people.
LO3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
I had seen my parents donating things to the needy always.So while participating in a hackathon I got the idea to design a prototype app used to donate things we have at home like raw food materials,clothes and stationary. Then I thought to implement in real life to help the needy.I started its plannings,used social media to spread awareness,then collected and donated things in the donation drive conducted on 26th January 2021.
LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Implementing donate 4 needy was a long process.It took 1 month in planning and implementing. I started with making a website and form for people to enter their details to donate.Then made graphing for campaigning.I used social media to spread awareness.then I received all data and then collected things to be donated from everyone’s place.Then I segregated all the items received for donation and donated it to needy people.This process was very tough and tiring.
LO6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Poverty and Hunger are some of the major global issues.Especially in India poverty and hunger are increasing.Through Donate 4 Needy I tried to help the people facing poverty and hunger.The donations which I gave to people helped them with raw food materials,clothes and stationary.
LO7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
While donating the things it was my responsibility to give it to people who really need help.I had to make some ethical choices like giving people what they need and make sure that the tgings given to donate are all reaching really needy people.
