Cycling (activity)

As school has started, I haven’t been able to do yoga as I did before. So to get more active I decided to do start cycling. I didn’t want my practice to stop and so I decided to do cycling regularly according to my time table.

LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I identified my own skills and areas of development during the activty. When I started cycling, I was very exhausted and had to constantly take breaks. I wasn’t able to cycle for prolonged time and that made me understand that my stamina is very low. I had to overcome this and so I started to cycle in the same distance for a long time rather than travelling more distance. But my body took time to get used to it, however this way I could speed up without getting breathless because the track that I followed wasn’t new to me and my body was comfortable with cycling for an hour straight.

LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Cycling for a continuous time was a very hard task for me, I had to take constant breaks and felt breathless in a very short time, however with this activity I was able to understand that your body takes time to get used to a activity like cycling because at the end I was able to cycle for at least an hour without stopping.

LO3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

It felt easy as easy as taking your bicycle and starting going, however it took a lot of planning and preparation so I could go to cycle.Self management was the most important aspect, with school it was the hardest thing to do because I wasn’t able to wake up very early to do cycling I had to do it after school. Which not only gave me a break but also refreshed my mind so I could study calmly afterwards. I had to pre-plan and gather all the items I would need for cycling. Such a a water bottle, airpods, phone, hand towel and my smartwatch. I kept all this in a single place for almost a week so wouldn’t waste my time to find them. This required a lot of planning, which actually helped me to remain active and not compromise on studies.

LO4- Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

After the very first day I felt that this experience was not for me. I was feeling very tired, irritated as after cycling I didn’t have the energy to do anything else. But cycling has always been something very interesting for me to do so instead of taking it up as a task I took it up as a fun activity. Which helped me be committed to it.
