Teaching 3D modelling using Blender Software

Blender is professional 3d modeling software, on which you can make any kind of 3d model. the software is very useful in the educational field for subjects like Mathematics, Product Design, Design Technology, etc… Since blender being a full-fledged 3d software, many people don’t know how to use it. I learned about blender from an online course of 36.5 hours. One of my School mathematic teachers wanted to learn this software as he wanted to use it for mathematic projections, and I also took a guest session in grade 12 Design Technology class as in grade 12 they were preparing for their IA, where they had to create a 3d model of there product, So as my CAS experience, I taught them about blender free of cost.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

During explaining different features and making them learn about the shortcut key, I developed communication skills during this teaching initiative, also I had to manage with my own studies. I developed my teaching skills, it was a hard but good experience to teach your own teacher and grade 12 students, plan the lecture and deliver quality content.

LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

The content to be taught was being planned, and I had to make sure the content I was delivering are the learners understanding or not, they were progressing. It was important for me to schedule everything properly and many everything on time as the DT students, I was teaching had their deadlines coming up, so I had to maintain a perfect pace.

The learner profile’s attribute, I developed was balanced and communicators. Balance as I had to manage the session with my own studies and see both are progressing well and communicator as I improved my communication skill while taking these sessions and learned few teaching skills. Finally, it was a great experience to teach the 3d modelling software.
