Volunteering in “Care club” (CAS 6)

Care club is a Surat-based non-profit organization which is funded by donations, which seeks to help stray animals in surat by providing them with food on a bi-weekly basis and also urgent medical care such as normal and aid and surgeries if required. I participated in it on October of 2020 and I was part of the piplod team and we went around piplod to feed the stray dogs and cats.

LO6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

I strongly agree that mistreatment of animals and animal cruelty is a global issue and should be dealt with, by taking part in this club I could at least help locally and provide for the helpless animals that get starved to death or get mistreated by our society.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Planning all the logistics was the key to our productivity. if we didn’t plan out when and how we will look around for needy and injured animals we would have missed most animals that needed help. We did encounter some planning issues that led to some cancellation of our feeding trips, this meant that the animals that needed us didn’t receive the help. We understood the consequences of planning poorly and our actions.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

This CAS was a big team effort, the piplod team had to collaborate and work together. Communication was vital, we had to discuss at what time most members can attend so that we can help most animals at once increasing our productivity. Therefore we had to work as team for us to achieve our goal

This CAS made me principled and caring as a person, it taught me to understand my morals and ethics and to act upon them and it made me caring and more empathic to how I treat animals, I understood what struggles they go through which made me more caring. This CAS was really fun and tiring at the same time but id consider a big success
