CAS Experience- Taster Lecture Of University Of Bristol

The prospect of What I will accomplish in the near future used to eat me. I was glancing through various colleges and got some answers concerning the University of Bristol. After consulting with my career adviser about it, she proposed that I investigate it, as Economics was something which I was fascinated about and which would help me with narrowing down what I want to study in the future. Henceforth I took the taster lecture for the Undergraduate program of Economics at the University of Bristol.

Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcome 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

There were numerous difficulties and challenges that I faced during the experience. One of them was managing my time effectively, the timing of the taster lecture was during my school classes, so I needed to either miss the end of the class or the start of the taster lecture and there were times when we have extra slots or assessment were I need to miss the vast majority of the lecture. The answer to the issue was to watch the part of the recording that I used to miss. The other difficulty that I faced was understanding their accent, their accent was slightly different than mine so it was difficult to interpret what the professor was speaking.

Learning Outcome 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Showing Commitment and determination towards the CAS Experience helped me gain a greater understanding of macroeconomics where I figured out how the government calculates GDP. Although the lecture was 6 hours long divided into 3 sessions it was toward the end of the school where I typically was exhausted and oftentimes I didn’t want to go yet the commitment and perseverance helped me in gaining new insights and knowledge about macroeconomics. Perseverance and commitment also assisted me in narrowing down what I want to study further.
