Last Year During the E-Portfolio of product design in Criteria B we needed to develop an online model of the final design. But because of the absence of understanding and knowledge, I couldn’t build up a model that was sufficient or good enough, which influenced my Grades. So that this would never happen again I needed to master SketchUp which will help me in my further assignment and assessment in Design Technology.
Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
All through the course, I Identified my own strengths and weaknesses. I discovered that I was very acceptable at following guidelines that were given to me in the tutorials, and I was quick to learn and quick to implement the instructions. There are things which you are good at and there are things which you aren’t for me, I couldn’t utilize the different sets of tools together for making a solitary object since I couldn’t recall every single tool that SketchUp gave us. To overcome this I made docs loaded up with notes of every single tool that states what every single tool does. Learning about the weaknesses and strengths assisted me with developing and mastering SketchUp so I can build a model that is stunning.
Learning Outcome 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
The street isn’t in every case straight, it has obstacles and bumpers. All through the course, I faced numerous challenges as I couldn’t discover a course that was up to date, every one of the courses that I discovered utilized an old variant of Sketchup henceforth the directions were not clear at times. This was the reason I couldn’t successfully finish the assignments and assessments that were given to me. The other difficulty that I faced was overcoming my weaknesses Since there was a lot of information given in the portion I often miss out on certain details and have to invest a lot of time replaying the tutorials.
Learning Outcome 3- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience and Learning Outcome 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
The course that I chose was 7 weeks long, to effectively use my time I made a timetable in which I gave myself deadlines to finish. I’m not an organized individual but making deadlines helped me to not procrastinate. The deadlines also assisted me with finishing the given task without compromising my studies and extracurricular activities. As the task was long, commitment and persistence was a significant factor, I’m not an individual who likes to study for a long period of time, I needed to motivate myself and the only thing that motivated me was the happiness of being prepared for the Internal Assessment.
Learning Outcome 7- Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
At the end of each module, we were given a test. The test results showed them that we are really paying attention and understanding the course. Then we would be eligible for the certificate. Ethics played a role in responding to these tests, whether or not you answered the questions honestly. If I cheated, it would not be beneficial to me because it would mean that I did not attend the course correctly. This would also mean that I would not able to develop 3D models on SketchUp for My design technology Internal Assessment.
