CAS Experience- Gymming

Considering the pandemic, throughout the day I was sitting idle, my routine was eating, playing (Online games), and sleeping because of which I had gained a ton of weight which worried my health and well-being. Thus, I started gymming to get back to shape, lose some weight and get over my laziness. Since I had been in a gym before I had the information on practicing thus I began gyming in my building with my friends.

Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcome 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

From the first day of gymming, I noticed that my weakness was I was lacking strength, endurance because of which I wasn’t able to do more laps of a certain exercise. So I planned that in order to gain more strength and endurance I would first let my body open up, for the first few weeks I started with simple and basic exercises. Eventually, I was able to regain my strength and endurance, but in order to gain more strength, endurance, and lose some weight I started pushing myself every day by increasing a few laps each day. Identifying my own strengths and weaknesses helped me with overcoming them and using them as a strength, in order to lose weight and be fit.

Learning Outcome 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

All through the CAS experience, I faced numerous difficulties and challenges. Because of the sudden change in my routine, I was exhausted each and every day, because of which I lacked the motivation to go to the gym. To overcome this I use to motivate myself by dreaming about how my body will look after the hard work, and eventually, gymming became a part of my day and it did not exhaust me. And with the help of my friends I was able to get up each day and go to the GYM, The other difficulty that I faced was waking up early in the morning. At times I was sleepy during the workout which affected my performance. To overcome this I used to drink coffee and take a cold bath in order to wake myself up and start my day.

Learning Outcome 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Commitment and Perseverance Are an important part of the experience, If you know me I am not a very active person, the things that motivated me to get up each day were the way that my body and feels after exercising/gyming. The other things that helped me gone through all that pain were the relaxation of laying down on the bed, and also the pain eventually was eventually less. Without commitment and perseverance makes a job is more difficult but with commitment, it helps us to achieve our goal.

Learning Outcome 5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

Working together is quite easy for me because I have always liked being with people and connecting with new people. Throughout the CAS experience, the advantage of working with my friends at the GYM was that I did not find physical training a chore and exhausting, but a fun experience with my friends. Also, hanging out with my friends helped me stay motivated throughout the whole experience, even if I was exhausted and tired, when I woke up from bed every morning they pushed me and helped me go to the gym every morning to lose weight and avoid health-related disease. The downside to working together was sometimes. It felt very chaotic which made it very difficult to focus on training, and sometimes it gave me a headache because I am a person who likes quiet mornings
