In this CAS experience, I gave a presentation to orphan children about technology and its importance in today’s world. I also included about how they can earn money through technology like selling stuff on social media. This was a really good experience for me because this type of presentation was something I never did before and it was way different than what we do in school. So I had to prepare for it in a different way than for most presentations I did before.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
As I already mentioned above, this presentation was something which was way different than what I ever did before. The audience, purpose and content was very different. This was the biggest challenge for me but I eventually overcame it by researching and asking help from my parents. They helped me understand the audience which helped me focus my purpose and content towards them. If it were school, I would have spoken in english and would have had content mostly in text but here many of the audience were really small who don’t understand english and it’s really hard for them to read, so I made the presentation in gujarati and used only images in regards of slide which helped them connect and understand my each and every point.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
In this experience, I was not the only one but other people also helped me and presented with me. There were 5 people other than me who extensively helped me. Two of them were my parents who helped me during the organization of the experience and gave me insight about the audience. One other person was their caretaker who introduced me during the start which was really helpful and that’s how I got their attention. Other two people were the ones who helped me organise this event and redirect me during the presentation and gave their inputs during the presentation.
LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
This experience involved the sustainable development goal number 4 which is quality education. Many underprivileged children don’t get quality education to survive through the harsh world. With this presentation I gave them information about the most important thing in this world. With this presentation I helped them start developing a platform for themselves. I know about this issue because I have seen first hand what happens to people who don’t get quality education. This is a global issue as it is part of the SDGs. By knowing and helping towards this goal, I feel blessed and really glad to do it.
