Creating a website for the corridors
Learning outcomes:- L1, L2, L3, L4, L5
I collaborated with Dev and Aahan to create the website for corridors. I have a good amount of interest in website development and have been doing it for quite a while. The website we made was just a front-end website with some good CSS. ( The link for the website is in evidence.)
Learning outcome 1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
My strength was website development, but I wasn’t able to develop a website that has a great front-end ( looks and user interface).
So the area of growth is learning how to make a website eye-appealing by learning some CSS tricks while making this website.
Learning outcome 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
As the website was going to be published online and many readers are going to come to read articles, the website needs to be eye-appealing. Hence the challenge in this task was making the website eye-appealing which will lead to new skills in CSS while making the website
Learning outcome 3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
We first planned how we will make the website like:-
what pages would be there, what will be the layout of the website, how would the page be interconnected, will the website have a database or not and all the other factors like navbar and all the elements colours.
And then we divided the tasks amongst each other.
Learning outcome 4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
As the corridors have articles coming every month, we had to update the code and add the new articles on the website.
I had to show commitment and perseverance to this CAS experience as it was long term. Despite IB submissions and studies, I had to make time for maintaining the website.
Learning outcome 5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
As the three of us were working together, the work was divided, which made the quality of the website increase as we could invest more time into the website. Also to add on, everyone brought their expertise in different coding languages to the table. Which lead to a helping hand to each other.
