Experience – FRISBEE 

For this activity I was focusing on improving on one of my own skills that is used in the sport Frisbee. I will be focusing on improving my backhand throw which is one of the two most common throw┬┤s that are used generally in a frisbee match.

 LO1 – Identify own strengths and areas of growth

I had identified that most of the time when i am playing frisbee i tend to use forehand throw more than backhand and even in situations where throwing a backhand throw would be more reliable to do so and i knew that i need to develop strengths in a backhand throw. Which would be beneficial not just to me but my entire team whenever I would play.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Since there was a lockdown a lot of the places where me and my friends would normally go to play like school grounds and open parks were still closed so even finding a place where we could play and also maintain safety while doing it. In order to find an answer to this challenge was to first compromise the size of the field because when I used to practice in the school we used to practice in a big field and have a coach to help if needed. Then I thought improving for me to improve at backhand i need to make more accurate throws which will help improve my skills.

LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

The plan that i had made for my Frisbee Activity was that i will be doing a total of 150 Backhand Throws for 7 days. The total 150 throws will consist of 35 Backhand throws without pivot and then 35 Backhand throws with pivot, then 40 long distance backhand throws with OUTSIDE-IN swing and then 40 long distance backhand throws with INSIDE-OUT swing.

LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Frisbee is a team sport and it requires more than one person to play the sport event for practice so everytime that I wanted to practice and improve my throwing skills and the benefits of collaboration in this activity is that not just me but the person I practiced with will also benefit from this.

Good Health and well being  – 

After this lockdown I Had not done any exercise or even played any sports and because of this I did not get unhealthy but I definitely became unfit compared to before the lockdown. After I completed this experience I definitely felt that I had gotten more fit than I was at before doing this activity. I also got more accurate and reliable at my backhand throws then I was before.
