Hacathon

I participated in a hackathon organised by Dare2Compete.In hackathon I learned more about programming because I actually built a project. In the hackathon I was supposed to build a project which could solve any problem in 2 days.I made a prototype app using mit app inventor.Using that app anyone can donate sitting at their home.

I won the award in the High School division in the hackathon

LO1 Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I have always been engaged in programming and this hackathon gave me a chance to enhance myself.I tried using the skills I have learned previously, not only the coding knowledge but also the general knowledge and artistic knowledge to make the app appealing to the users. It was a great learning experience.

LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Making a prototype app  in 2 days was very challenging.I had to come up with an appealing app idea and then I had to make its design and then make it by coding,it was very difficult.I developed many new skills during this process like time management.

LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Coding is not a easy task.As in coding even if you make one mistake it causes an effect on the whole app.Finding that bug(mistake) and correcting it is a very tiring and difficult task.It requires a lot of patience to do that.During hackathon I also faced many bugs(mistakes) in my coding, but I did not leave the project and stayed committed towards ir.

LO6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

The app I made helped the poor and the ones suffering from hunger issues.Using my app ones blessed with resources can donate raw food materials, stationary and clothes without going out of their home.I tried helping the poor and hungry in our city by later implementing this Idea in real life.
