Charity Cricket match

Cricket, a famous sport in India. A country with 138 crores as population, cricket matches are nothing less than a festival. But with this high number of population 2 common issues are unawareness/ uneducatedness about current and future issues and unprivileged circumstances. Commonly lack of clean water is a major issue, only one who can’t quench their thirst can truly understand it, but one would also feel the pain of not quenching their thirst but viewing someone wasting water. An uncommon practice amongst many is thinking we have an abundant source of clean water and we have no ill-effects of wasting water. So we three wanted to change this situation and hence we   Initiated a plan to host a cricket match while raising funds from the match for the unprivileged.

LO 1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.

I identified my weakness being that I  had little experience or interest in cricket, mostly citing a major amount of time spent on other sports such as Football, Volleyball and to a limited extent basketball. On the other hand I felt my strength was in leadership, due to abundant experience in being the captain of the school Football team across the age categories and leading a team which had a player older than me hence knowing the bits of what and how to lead.

To follow this I tried to lead when planning the match but also encouraged my peers to lead different parts of the match planning, as I followed a wise saying “ a good leader is one who nurtures and gives opportunity to new leaders”. Though when it came to playing cricket I learnt great things across bowling, batting and fielding. I was helped by players who constantly advised me, overall not only I had a great time but procured great experience.

LO 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

The biggest challenge we had was regarding Covid-19 restriction and individuals safety and unavailability of turf due to pre-book timings.

We kept safety as our biggest priority and hence we had planned regular sanitation to keep one and another safe. For the second problem I realized we just had to be patient and choose a team though not what we would prefer but eventually good a good time slot for the weekend.

LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS Experiences

For this project I first made a rough plan of activities and time duration. Then moving forward I had my peers confirm their suitable timings and then checked for available time slots on the turf. Once this was confirmed then I along with my teammates chose the best possible time to do a donation run.

LO 4 : Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Greatest demotivating factor was delay in the circumstance of schedule opening as steady deferrals and not specific time at the end of the week made it hard for us. At a certain point I wanted to drop this occasion yet fortunately I didn’t surrender and everything happened effectively.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Working cooperatively is most certainly exceptionally accommodating as we split the errands between individuals, making responsibility more attainable and expanding the nature of work, as one individual isn’t in the consistent imperative of time limit while the nature of yield stays at greatest limit.

LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

It was appalling to see so many not ready to extinguish their thirst. To me I could interface this to have a huge number of ranchers are driving self destruction because of dry spells and not ready to develop crops or reimburse obligations while many waste water only because of being advantaged.

As we raised tracked down, our essential intention was to give the unprivileged a basic bottle of water, while our subsequent thought process was to bring issues to light with regards to clean water, it’s significance for living creature and its attributes of being alarms and how squandering it can make millions bite the dust in present and a lot more in future as our people in the future would battle for clean water

LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

The above all else moral issue would be, choosing helpless local people dependent on the early bird gets the worm premise yet additionally abusing unprivileged individuals yet additionally giving a chance to a similar treatment. We intended to lessen the moral hole in this project and standardize the expression and its utilization “sharing is mindful”.

One moral issue I ran over was, the means by which these individuals may become subject to others to give them their necessities out of insignificance, as many would be sluggish to acquire and foster qualities of being apathetic.
